Our mission to end suicide.
On June 13, 1987 the lives of the Sexton Family of Glenview, Illinois changed forever. It was on that day Stephen Sexton took his own life. Stephen was fifth of eight children and twenty six years old at the time of his death.
As a result, the Stephen Sexton Memorial Foundation was formed in 1987. Over the years much has changed, as the growth in recognition on the depth and complexity of suicide as a societal problem has risen. Our efforts are aimed at helping solve the problems surrounding suicide.
Our resources have helped to support local, statewide, national activities and research to prevent suicide. As a whole, the Stephen Sexton Memorial Foundation has raised over $1.4 million in total disbursements.
